Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2) is recognized by industry experts as
a highly efficient and safe disinfectant and/or purification agent. The World Health Organization (WHO) has
classified stabilized chlorine dioxide (SCD) as a Fourth Generation
disinfectant. As a disinfectant, SCD can
effectively kill bacteria such as bacillus subtilis, staphylococcus aureus, and
E. coli. It can also kill fungi, algae,
and can inhibit viruses. Furthermore it is not carcinogenic, teratogenic, or
mutagenic. Because of its benign properties, effectiveness, safety, and lack of
residues, ClO2 has been classified as a “green disinfectant”. However, conventional ClO2 manufacturing
process is energy intensive with unsafe by-products which require treatment. The resulting high production cost retards
the use of environmentally safer ClO2 over chlorine.
Fovean utilizes innovative environment-friendly yet low cost
ClO2 manufacturing technique to enhance production and to promote
cost-effective ClO2 mass adoption to create a clean and toxic-free environment.
